Ombre Crepe Layer Cakes

On this valentine's day, win hearts by making these cute ombre crepe layer cakes for your loved ones!
Crepes are easy to make. They need to be cooked on flat pan on medium heat. It takes less than 2 minutes for crepes to cook. The crepe batter should be thinner and runny than pancake batter.

For Crepes batter:
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 1/2 cup All purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • Red color
  • Icing Sugar
For Filling:
  • 2 cups Heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  1. For crepe batter: In a blender jar, add eggs, oil, sugar, milk, water, flour and vanilla extract.
  2. Blend well. See that no lumps are formed.
  3. Separate the batter into three bowls equally.
  4. Add red gel color: 2 drops into one bowl, one drop into another.
  5. Don't add color to third bowl.
  6. On a medium hot pan, pour 2 tbsp of batter and let it cook for 2 minutes. Remove the crepe from the pan and let it cool.
  7. Repeat with entire batter.
  8. Cut them into heart shapes with the help of a cookie cutter.
  9. For filling:  Add whipping cream, sugar and vanilla extract in a large bowl. whip it with the help of electric mixer or stand mixer until stiff.
  10. Now place layers of crepes on each other by adding whipping cream in between them starting from light color to dark color crepes.
  11. Dust icing sugar on top of the crepe layer cakes.
  12. Enjoy them with your loved ones.
